International Community Schools (ICS), Abu Dhabi, has rooted a historic and enviable reputation for providing high-quality private education for students of all ages, ranging from Nursery, to KG up to Grade 12, in British and American curriculum as well as International Bachelorette. Since our original formation, Ibrahimya School in 1990, we have developed from a relatively humble ‘villa school’ housing 200 students, to the prestigious, renowned and highly resourced facilities at present catering to over 4500 academic minds.
ICS Time Line

1990
Established in Abu Dhabi, implementing the British Curriculum, with a student population of 130.


1999-2009
New Identity launched in Abu Dhabi as International Community School, with over 750 students.


2010-2014
We moved to a former government school to accommodate our increased number of students, numbering over 1350.


2013
ICS expands and opens a second campus in the heart of Abu Dhabi City, ICS City Centre, in a government school building to cater for a larger school population.


2014
ICS Mushrif, the first purpose-built ICS campus, with state of the art educational and recreational facilities is designed and constructed.


2017
Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Col. Al Worden, USAF-Ret., who promoted STEM Education and exploration and inspired the students to pursue a career in space and STEM, visited ICS.

2018
5 students from ICS won first place in the “Water Rocket Competition” out of 223 students from across the UAE. The challenge was hosted by Emirates Aviation University to encourage innovation in the field of aerodynamics for high school students.
2019
A team of 3 students from ICS-Mushrif won first place (People’s Choice Award) with their project, “Smart Truck”. A team of 3 students won second place (Judges Choice Award) with their project “Carcinogen Test”.

2019
ICS opened a third Branch in a former government school building, demonstrating our growth and the trust we have in the community to teach their children.


2019
ICS students received the “Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship” Award from Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Col. Al Worden, USAF-Ret. and Tom Kallman, CEO of Kallman Worldwide, at the Dubai Airshow 2019 to attend the Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. A total of 4 students were selected from all over the UAE, 2 of which were from ICS.


2020
The campus was completely redesigned and reconstructed in 2020 to provide world-class facilities to our students.


2020
ICS expands to al Falah City through the construction of a world-class educational complex catering to over 3500 students.


2021
ICS students received the “Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship” from the Endeavour Scholarship Goodwill Ambassador, Charlie Duke (Apollo 16 Astronaut and Moonwalker) and UAE astronauts, Mohammed Al Mulla, and Nora Al Matrooshi at the Dubai Airshow 2021. The scholarship entitled them to attend the Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.

ICS adds a fifth Branch to our group of schools, with the opening of our Khalifa City School, able to provide top-class education to over 2500 students.

An ICS alumni, becomes a professional footballer, playing for Club Deportivo Leganés in the Spanish League.

With great pride, an ICS student received the Best Arab Athlete award from His H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

ICS built a 43 unit building, with state-of-the-art facilities, constructed to provide ICS staff with comfortable accommodation in Al Falah.


2022
ICS continued to expand our educational domain by opening our 1st Nursery in Al Falah City.

ICS Mushrif gains the prestigious authorization and becomes an IB World school offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP).
